The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar runs on an extra-thin automatic winding movement. Its skeleton rotor is in white gold and the movement is fully finished by hand. Its case is made of two pieces of stainless steel case. The diameter is 38.5mm and a thickness of 9.5mm.

Its finishing is brushed and polished with the standard octagonal bezel and a flat sapphire crystal. The bezel is screwed down by 8 white-gold hexagonal nuts fastened through the caseback.
It has a see-through caseback with sapphire crystal. The crown is hexagonal in shape and screwed down. It has 4 correctors located on the middle portion of four edges of the watch. Its water resistance capability is up to 20 meters.
There are quite a few versions of case and different colored dials combination. Let us look at the stainless steel case with light gray dial. It has white-gold luminescent baton markers and white-gold luminescent baton hands. The minute track is printed over the dial.

Indicators within are the date at 3, moonphase at 6, the day at 9, and lastly the month and four-year cycle at 12. It uses brushed stainless steel bracelets and has a fold over clasp with safety pusher.
Other combinations available are sapphire blue, yellow-gold, platinum, and stainless steel black Grande Tapisserie dials. It also has an interesting platinum Tuscany blue dial and a skeletonized version with yellow-gold or steel case.
