The Royal Oak City of Sails is dedicated to the Swiss Challenge of the American Cups in 2003. It is a chronograph with automatic winding that has a thinness of 6.15mm only even though it has quite a few functions offered.
It has a movement that is hand decorated and a Cotes de Geneve on the bars and bridges within. It consists of 37 jewels and a power reserve of 40 hours with 50 meters water resistance.
Its case comes in pink-gold, steel and platinum. The caseback has an engraved picture of two sails boat racing. The dial has an “extra” Grande Tappisserie pattern.
The sub-counters included are the 12 hours counter, 30 minute counter, and the small seconds. Interesting would be its 12 hour counter that has the Alinghi logo within.
The straps used are made of rubber that is convexed and of course comes with the Audemars Piguet folding clasp.
It is a limited edition where only 200 pieces were made in pink-gold, 1,250 pieces in stainless steel and 50 pieces in 950 platinum.
