Parmigiani Fleurier
From Restoration to Creating Aesthetics with Technology

Before the start of Parmigiani FleurierSince, Michel Parmigiani in 1975 has established a well-known watch restoration business. From his vast experience and consistent passion in horology, many collectors have entrusted their famous timepieces under his service.

In 1994, he successfully restored one of the most difficult and longest assignments, the supposed beyond repair Breguet Pendule Sympathique Clock. Within that same year, he started the company Parmigiani Fleurier to develop his own line of watches. His guiding principle for his creative work was “harmony guides the intelligence of the hand” which involves a lot of balance and proportioning of his design.

The company officially launched their first line of collection in 1996 with wristwatches and pocket watches as well as a Grande Complication movement. One of their greatest design was Toric which they unveiled the Toric Chronograph wristwatch in 1997. This particular collection has a round case with double milling on its bezel.

One of their top models was the Toric Perpetual Calendar Retrograde. This was reformulated in 2001 where it incorporates the company’s first manufactured perpetual calendar movement known as Caliber 331. It has a moonphase indication with accuracy that has discrepancy of only 1 day every 120 years.

Another popular one was Toric Minute Repeater GMT launched in 2001. This particular will sound off its two separate sonnerie based on hours, quarters, and minutes. At the same time, it has a second time zone indication featured at 3.

Other Toric designs are:
Toric Chronograph
Toric Westminster

In 2002, Parmigiani Fleurier created one of their most revolutionary designs by collaborating with Bugatti which was also the world’s very first mechanical timepiece to achieve so. This was totally inspired by an automobile technology where the case is designed for visibility of its movement. The bridge and its other parts were all lined on a horizontal axis that creates a clear dissection of the wheelwork.

This Bugatti watch is available in 18k white gold and houses a type 370 caliber with transverse hand-wound mechanical movement with 10 days of power reserve. It has a water resistance of 30m. Its dial comprises of either red, black, or engine-turned rhodium-plated with luminescent baton markers.

Another popular range would be the Kalpa collection which focuses on tonneau-shaped case with a nice curve that wraps around your wrist and aligning against your hand. The Kalpa Hebdomadaire has an amazing 8 days of power reserve. Using a hand-wound mechanical movement, it also has functions covering the hours, minutes, small seconds, and date.

Other Kalpa designs:
Kalpa Grande Automatic Steel
Kalpa Grande Automatic PF006797
Kalpa Grande Automatic PF006796
Kalpa Grande Automatic PF006800
Kalpa XL Automatic PF009236
