Panerai Luminor GMT 44mm has changed its usual case diameter of 47mm to 44mm. However, it retains the beauty of the Panerai Luminor series. The case has a new feature where it is made of AISI 316L stainless steel but textured in two finishing. The caseband and lever bridge has brushed finishing while the bezel is a mirror-finishing. This contrasting effect gives the watch its uniqueness.

It also has a new bracelet that has part brushed finishing and polished finishing on the links. The brushed linnks are also asymmetrically designed with curved shapes on the length and width so that it is as flexible as leather straps.
The watch uses the Panerai OP XII caliber with an automatic mechanical movement. It has 21 jewels and vibrates at 28,800 alternations per hour. Its bridges has the Cotes de Geneve decorations and it has also an anti-shock device. Its power reserve is up to 42 hours with a COSC certified chronometer.
Its dial is in black with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers. Around the edge is another set of 24-hour numerals which is indicated by the central hand tipped with an arrow that completes one full rotation based on 24 hours. It uses a 3.5mm sapphire crystal (for withstanding water resistance depth of 300m) with anti-reflective coating and has a magnifying lens over the date display at 3.
The lever device over the crown is Panerai's trademark which is made of brushed steel. It is to protect the crown from infiltration for effective water resistance.
