The Panerai Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT is designed for lower chances of error. Its cage rotates on an axis parallel to the base of the movement at right angles to the axis of oscillation of the balance. It also has the cage making two rotations per minute.
It runs on the P.2005 caliber which is a hand-wound movement. It consists of 239 components and its power reserve is up to 6 days. Its functions include the ours, minutes, small seconds, second time zone, power reserve indicator on the back, 24h indicator, Tourbillon. It uses a sapphire crystal back which reveals the movement. Its tourbillon can be viewed nicely from it. It does not create the tourbillon device is not revealed through an opening on the dial which is a typical design.

The seconds sub-dial located at 9 has a a little circular blue indicator as well as the seconds hand. The indicator is connected to the tourbillon and therefore moves twice as fast as the seconds hand. The sub-dial is positioned at 3 which displays the 24 hours indication. It points at the inscriptions “pm” and “am” to indicate whether the hour shown by the GMT hand is during the day or the night.
It has 31 jewels and a Glucydur® balance. There is a KIF Parechoc® anti-shock device. Its case has a diameter of 47 mm and is made of AISI 316L brushed steel. The dial is black with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers. Its water-resistance is up to 100 metres.
