New Emotion Chronograph 1940 or Academia Chronographe 1940 uses the DW 6003 caliber that is based on Valjoux 71 caliber and totally built in-house. It is a mechanical and manual winding movement. It uses a chronograph with column wheel and vibrates at 18,000 vph.

Its case comes in solid 750 red-gold and 750 white gold. Both encompass the “New Emotion” or “Academia” styled case where the bezel and middle portion has the “Imperial Column” engraving.
It uses sapphire crystal for the case and the caseback is transparent with sapphire crystal revealing the movement within. Its water resistance is up to 30 meters.
The dial has hand-turned guilloche pattern in the center portion. For the red gold case, the dial has red and white gold, while the white gold case has is specifically white gold dial. Its central hands are shaped like a sword which is a De Witt exclusive style.
There are Arabic numerals used for the hour indication. The two chronograph subdials are minutes at 3 and small seconds at 9. It has a black alligator strap and a matching metal folding clasp. There is only a limitation of 50 pieces for each case version.
