The Langematik with outsized date is one of the sub-categories in the Langematik collection. It took the company’s engineers five years to produce the Langematik range.
Within this watch there are actually three patents: the double window outsized date, the whiplash precision index adjuster, and the zero-reset mechanism for the small seconds.
What the zero-reset device provides is a unique stopping of the small seconds and automatic resetting of the small seconds back to zero when the crown is pulled. When the crown is pushed back into position, the movement restarts as well.
This watch runs on Sax-0-Mat caliber where Sax stands for Saxony (place of origin for the company), 0 represents the zero-reset mechanism, and Mat means automatic. All Langematik uses the Sax-0-Mat caliber within.
Langematik with outsized date uses case from four types of metal: yellow gold, pink gold, white gold, and platinum. Each has their own colored dial and markers:
- Yellow gold case: Solid silver dial with yellow gold baton markers and hands
- Pink gold case: Black silver dial with pink gold baton markers and hands
- Platinum gold case: Solid silver dial with rhodium-plated baton markers and hands
- White gold case: Black silver dial with rhodium-plated baton markers and hands
The case has a diameter of 37mm and thickness of 9.7mm. It uses flat sapphire crystal with a transparent caseback with sapphire crystal to reveal the movement within. The date corrector pusher is located at 10. The crown at 3 has a “A. Lange & Sohne” signature around it.
For all these different case, they are using luminescent in the central hands as well as two luminescent dots at 3, 6, 9 and 12. The minute tracks are printed on the dial. Its small seconds counter is located at 6 and it has multiples of 10 printed on it up to 60. The patented outsized date is positioned at 12.
Its strap is hand-stitched crocodile leather and has a buckle with similar metal scheme as the case that is engraved with “Lange” signature. The white gold has another two versions of metal bracelet straps made of white gold too.
