A. Lange and Sohne wanted Lange 1 to be the exclusive mens watch introduced to depict its deep heritage in horology. It uses mechanical and self-winding movement that is solely hand-made. It uses great masters in watchmaking to produce this expensive timepiece.
Its dials come in various color from silver, gray, black, and even mother of pearl. This combination is also matched with different types of case from pink-gold, yellow-gold, white-gold, and platinum. The case is about 38.5mm in diameter and thickness of 10mm. It has a transparent sapphire crystal caseback that reveals the refine movement and mechanisms within.
The dial has an off-center hour and minute counter at 9 where it has Roman numerals for 3, 6, 9 and 12 markers. There is also a patented big date that has a border using the same material as the case.
The outsized date uses double window to display the date and it runs a two-disc mechanism to display the two numbers individually.
Then positioned at 3 is the power reserve counter and also a small seconds counter located around 5 that can be activated when the crown is pulled.
The straps used are mainly crocodile leather where they are hand-stitched that ensures maximum security in its finishing. The clasp will use a material that is exactly similar to the case and there will be a hand-engraved “Lange” signature on it.
