Jules Audemars Metropolis Perpetual Calendar is an automatic watch that uses an extra-thin movement. It makes about 19,800 half of an oscillation per hour (vibrations per hours).
Its rotor has a 21K gold segment. The movement is decorated with Cotes de Geneve and everything is hand-finished.
Its case has a diameter of 39mm and is 10mm thick and comes in two types of metal: platinum and pink-gold. It uses a curved sapphire crystal.
There is a white-gold crown at 3, a date-corrector at 2, and a pusher for the world time at 4. The caseback is transparent with sapphire glass that reveals the movement within.
Both metal cases use silver dials that have special gradients running both longitudinal and latitudinal directions. It has the unique large Arabic numerals and cabochon markers that are white-gold for the platinum case and pink-gold for the pink-gold case. There are printed minute track that is indicated every 5 minutes until 60.
There are 4 sub-dial counters: a four-year cycle at 12, date at 3, the world time at 6, and the day at 9. The world time represents for London, Cairo, Dubai, New Delhi, Hong Kong, Sydney, Auckland, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Mexico, Caracas, and Atlantic.
Jules Audemars Metropolis Perpetual Calendar uses crocodile leather that has an interesting fold-over clasp shaped to Audemars Piguet’s logo, AP.
