IWC Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth Edition "Adventure Ecology"
The IWC Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth Edition “Adventure Ecology”, an extreme adventure timepiece, has shown its reliabilty under the most extreme conditions as a companion with British adventurer David de Rothschild. IWC, as official partner of the Plastiki expedition, has come up with this limited edition timepiece in 1000 pieces. Plastiki is the name of a metre-long catamarain made mainly of reclaimed plastic bottles which will be sailed for 10,000 nautical miles to highlight environmental issues. The movement contains a soft-iron inner core with anti-magnetic properties and impressively, a shock-absorption system. This timepiece houses an automatic IWC Caliber 80110. It contains 28 jewels that vibrate at 28,800 times per hour. The movement features Pellaton winding with a shock-proofed rotor. Power reserve is estimated at 44 hours when fully wound. The functions are hours, minutes; sweep seconds; and date at 3.

The IWC Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth Edition "Adventure Ecology" stainless steel casing is a very masculine 46mm in diameter, with a height of 15mm. The face is made of anti-reflective treated sapphire crystal. The crown is screwed-in, water-resistance is to 12 bar. The expedition logo is engraved on the case-back. The brick-textured blue dial is contrasted with orange-accented silver indexes and hands. The band is an electric blue rubber with buckle.
