IWC Big Ingenieur Chronograph
Within this version of IWC Big Ingenieur Chronograph, the hours and minutes are presented as a totaliser on a subdial at 12, meaning that the chronograph can be read just like ordinary time requiring no addition as is the case with other watches. This timepiece houses an automatic IWC Caliber 89360. It contains 40 jewels that vibrate at 28,800 times per hour. The movement features a double-pawl automatic winding system with a shock proofed rotor. Power reserve is estimated at 68 hours when fully wound. The functions are hours, minutes; subsidiary seconds; chronograph with flyback function; and date at 6.

The casing comes in two versions, stainless steel, or 250 pieces limited edition in platinum. It is a very masculine 45.5mm in diameter, with a height of 14.5mm. The face is made of anti-reflective treated sapphire crystal, with a transparent case back allowing a view of the fascinating mechanical movement within. The crown is screwed-in, water-resistance is to 12 atm. In the IWC Big Ingenieur Chronograph version featured here, the brick-textured black dial is contrasted with silvered subdials, hands and markers that complement the casing beautifully, adding another touch of classic elegance. Luminescent coating ensures easy legibility in dark conditions. The band is alligator leather with a buckle.
