De Bethune is a very young company that started in 2002 by two individuals: the chairman David Zanetta, a prestigious consultant to many watch houses, and managing director Denis Flageollet, a 20 year experienced professor in watch making with a school in Le Locle. The company is situated in Swiss Jura which is near the French border. The company is made up of a team of craftmen and technicians with extensive experiences in various luxury watch houses and private collectors. This is the reason behind their high quality fine watches base on their in-depth knowledge and research in all aspects covering mechanical, design and material. Their watches are finished to a level as good as “tailor-made” quality.
In 2003, they debut their collection of impressive watches that caught many critics eye. Some of these complications are GMT with 7 days power reserve, marine chronometer with 10 day power reserve and strike-silent mechanism, perpetual calendar with big date, and a split-second chronograph.
All of their wristwatches are made of exclusive ogival lugs from either gold or platinum. They also have a standard diameter of 42mm which are also relatively thin. Their dials are either gold or gold- and silver- plated with guilloche pattern that are hand finished. Every movement within their timepieces are put together by hand and almost all of them are produced in-house.
Let us look at some of their greatest complications from the company:
