Blancpain L-Evolution Complete Calendar

Before discussing about Blancpain L-Evolution Complete Calendar, the company in 2009 launched two new complicated movements, Calibers 13R5 and 66R9. Both of these calibers were derived from the manually wound 13R0, that make up the basis of the new L-Evolution line.

This new line boasts a more unconventional dial design: comprising large numerals and partially skeletonized dials, encased in solid weighty cases, will be appreciated by discerning watch connoisseurs. Another trait this collection offers is the adjustable calendar displays, which surprisingly, can be tweaked close to midnight, an act that would cause certain damage to many other less sophisticated movements.

Blancpain L-Evolution Complete Calendar

The Blancpain L-Evolution Complete Calendar, powered by the automatic Caliber 66R9, goes one step further. It has the additional function of a complete calendar with windows for the day and month and hands for the date and moon phase, increasing the complexity of the watch substantially.

The movement has 36 jewels that vibrate at 28,800 times per hour, and boasts triple spring barrels with an impressive power reserve of 192 hours, or 8 days. The red gold case is a pretty stately 43.5mm in diameter and has a height of 15.55mm. It features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal face. The crown is screwed in. The main functions are hours, minutes, sweep seconds; day and month at 12; date; power reserve display; and moon phase display at 6.

The skeletal dial boasts oversized luminous Roman numerals with sword hands. This watch is presented with a brown alligator leather strap with triple-blade folding clasp. Another variation of the watch comes in a stainless steel casing.
