Blancpain L-Evolution 8 Jours
Before discussing further about Blancpain L-Evolution 8 Jours, a slight update on what Blancpain recently launched, two new complicated movements: Calibers 13R5 and 66R9. Both of these calibers derived from the manually wound 13R0, that make up the basis of the new L-Evolution line. This new line boasts a more unconventional dial design: comprising large numerals and partially skeletonized dials, encased in solid weighty cases, will be appreciated by discerning watch connoisseurs. Another trait this collection offers is the adjustable calendar displays, which surprisingly, can be tweaked close to midnight, an act that would cause certain damage to many other less sophisticated movements. One such model, the Blancpain L-Evolution 8 Jours powered by the automatic Caliber 13R5, allows the date and power reserve to be seen together with the base movement.

The movement has 36 jewels that vibrate at 28,800 times per hour, and boasts triple spring barrels with an impressive power reserve of 192 hours, or 8 days. The stainless steel case is a pretty stately 43.5mm in diameter and has a height of 13.4mm. It features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal face. The crown is screwed in. The main functions are hours, minutes, sweep seconds; date at 6; power reserve display. The skeletal dial boasts oversized luminous Arabic numerals with sword hands. This watch is presented with a brown alligator leather strap with triple-blade folding clasp.
