Blancpain Carrousel Volant Une Minute
Blancpain Carrousel Volant Une Minute must have evoked excitement from the brand's fans when it was first unveiled in 2008. This remarkable timepiece has its movement dedicated to the carrousel, which was initially created in 1892 to balance the effects of gravity upon a watch escapement. A result of a four-year long collaboration with renowned watchmaker Vincent Calabrese, this time piece boasts 262 individual parts fitted into a wristwatch case, and an equally stunning rotating one-minute karussel tourbillon.

The movement utilizes the automatic Blancpain Caliber 225 with 36 jewels that vibrate at 21,600 times per hour. The movement is also partially skeletonized. The platinum case is 43.5mm in diameter and 14mm in height. The face is made of sapphire crystal, as with the transparent case back, allowing a splendid view of this exquisite carrousel and other components, each of which boasts hand-finishing with traditional decorations. The crown is screwed in. The main functions are hours, minutes; subsidiary seconds; date at 9; and power reserve display of 100 hours, at 6. The Blancpain Carrousel Volant Une Minute dial is silvered, with white indexes and contrasts against the black hands with white tips. This brilliant timepiece is completed by a black crocodile leather strap with a folding clasp.
