Blancpain Sport 500 Fathoms
Another milestone is the Blancpain Sport 500 Fathoms. As its name suggests, water-resistance is 10 times its predecessor, or 1000 meters deep. Touted as the ultimate dive watch, it is equipped with a helium expulsion valve at the 10 o'clock position, which is a life-saver when diving in such extreme conditions. The technological feats contained within the Sport 500 Fathoms do not disappoint dive-watch aficionados.

The movement utilizes the automatic Blancpain Caliber 1315 with 35 jewels that vibrate at 28,800 times per hour. The titanium case is 48mm in diameter and 16.95mm in height. It features a unidirectionally rotating bezel with sapphire crystal inlay. The face is also made of sapphire crystal. The crown is screwed in. Water-resistance is to 100 atm. The main functions are hours, minutes, sweep seconds; and a date aperture between 4 and 5. The Blancpain Sport 500 Fathoms dial is a quirky black and white combination when viewed from afar, but really, large phosphorescent Arabic numerals are hollowed into the sunray-brushed metal appliques. Optimal readability in diving depths are ensured with the luminous coating on the indexes, hands and bezel. The band is made of black synthetic textile with a folding clasp.
