Before discussing about Baume Mercier Hampton Classic M0A08808, a short history about the Hampton range of watches. Created in 1994 and feature rectangular models inspired by a timepiece from the 1940s. The collection derived its name from the Hamptons, situated on Long Island not far from New York, the playground for society's elite during their summer vacations. The slim, well-proportioned timepieces have been Baume & Mercier's trademark for understated elegance.

This watch uses the automatic BM Caliber 72671 (base ETA 2671) containing 25 jewels and vibrate at 28,800 times per hour. Water-resistance is up to 5 atm. The stainless steel case is 42.5mm x 27.3mm, with a height of 9.9mm. The face is made of sapphire crystal. Its functions are hours, minutes, sweep seconds; and date at 6.

This particular model features a mother-of-pearl dial, with silver-colored hands and numerals that combine to present an uncluttered classic watch. The strap which is made of leather with a double folding clasp, comes in brown or black. One can also opt for a black dial.
