Ball Trainmaster Cannonball
When Webb C. Ball was credited with revolutionizing the railroad time system in the 1890s, his subsequent timepieces created were designed to be timeless, unique, classic. The latest Trainmaster Cannonball is a clear reflection of those early pocket watches. Every detail on this retro-style watch is a delight, from the cursive white Arabic numbers with quirky blue hands, to the classy black enamel dial, and the clever “Ball & Co” replacing the 7. This watch uses the automated Ball Caliber 2050 (base Soprod) that vibrate at 28,800 times per hour. 25 jewels are included in the movement, and 24 jewels in the chronograph, making up a total of 49 jewels. It has a 38-hour power reserve. The stainless steel case is 43mm in diameter with a height of 14.8mm.

It has a screw-in crown and a screw-down sapphire crystal case back that offers a glimpse of the exquisite workmanship. The face is made of anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The main functions are hours, minutes, subsidiary second subdial at 3 as a tribute to Ball's railroad legacy; date at 12; and 45-minute chronograph at 9. This functional watch is water-resistant to 50m and shock-resistant to 5,000Gs. 15 micro gas tubes on hands and dial equate easy readability even at night. A crocodile skin band with a pinhole buckle accentuates the beauty of this watch. Variations include black numerals on white enamel dial, or a stainless steel bracelet.
